New Year, New Website

A “quick” update that took a while

It’s been a while since the last iteration of my website, thamara.xyz. It was mostly text-based.

I bought the thamara.co.uk and thamara.uk domains last year, and thought I should give this space a new look.

I’ve refreshed everything. The homepage, the blog (which has now been moved back to WordPress from Medium), and everything else. I’ve added a number of new pages, too:

Colophon: read all about how and why the website was made here.

Now: Inspired by Derek Sivers’s nownownow.com. Read all about what’s happening in my life right now on this page. I’ve added a number of widgets to this page by vibe-coding them. Make of that what you will. It worked for me, and I think the purpose is innocent enough.

Uses: Inspired by Wes Bos’s uses.tech. I’ve listed the day to day tools I use (both hardware and software) on this page.

The thinking behind the /now and /uses pages is simple. They’re a window into my life, although I cannot think of a single reason why anybody would be interested (my own wife was unimpressed when I showed her.) I don’t know why I still have a website at all; perhaps it’s out of boredom more than anything else. I like having things to tinker with.

I’ve also created an RSS feed for the blog. How exciting! Hello there, if you’re reading this (unlikely anybody will be.)

That’s it for now. Time will tell how long this iteration will last.
