What’s happening now?

This is a page dedicated to what’s happening in my life right now. Inspired by my friend Kaveen’s now page, which in turn was inspired by nownownow.com.

Cinema

I’m an avid cinema-goer. I spend most of my free time at my favourite place in Belfast, the Queen’s Film Theatre.

I sometimes make alternate posters for films that I like.

Music

I like as much detail as possible in my music. My current listening setup includes:

Gigs

A photo of Myles Kennedy performing at the Limelight, Belfast in 2024.

I enjoy live music, and living in the UK has given me opportunities that I never would have had back home in Sri Lanka. I try to attend as many music, comedy, and theatre performances as I can, time and budget permitting.

Guitars

A majority of the music I consume is guitar-based, and I also play guitar at a beginner level. I keep buying guitars thinking that skill will follow. (It hasn’t happened yet.) Fortunately for you, the music I make is not available for public consumption. My current guitars are:

Physical Media App

I built a simple React app with Lovable to catalogue my physical media collection.

Bear Appeal

I built a successful e-commerce and apparel manufacturing business with my friend and co-founder Pavithra. While I’m no longer involved, the business continues to thrive under Pavithra and his team.

Debas.lk

Debas was an online platform (now defunct) which brought together diverse perspectives on Sri Lankan politics, economy, society, and culture in dialogue with one another. I helped my friends Himal, Rajni, and Jo with this.

The Bad Take Podcast

A conversational podcast on anything from politics and pop culture to the universe and the meaning of life. I co-hosted this with my friend Himal. The episodes are still available online for your listening pleasure.
