Waiting for Big Thief

I’m currently standing inside Glasgow’s beautiful Barrowland Ballroom, surrounded by some hundreds of strangers, waiting for Big Thief to take the stage.

I’m the kind of person who usually needs ideal conditions to do certain things. Writing generally is one of those things. I need to be relaxed. I need to be at home. I need my laptop. But I don’t have any of those things right now.

I do have relative anonymity (I don’t know anyone here, and nobody is paying any attention to what anybody else is doing) and Jetpack on my phone.

At Homebrew Website Club last week, I told everyone that I’m focusing on writing more for my website. I started writing a post on the train today, which will go live later in the week. And now I’ve just written and published a short post while waiting for a gig to begin.

I think I’m off to a good start.
